Situated within a three hour drive of Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC – Rehoboth, DE serves as a local beach getaway for the mid-Atlantic region.
Rehoboth is centered around a mile long boardwalk. Traditional boardwalk staples such as salt water taffy and pizza sit along side fine dining establishments. Blue crab and other Chesapeake Bay delicacies are to be had.
Delaware does not charge sales tax. As such, outlet malls dot the inland edge of Rehoboth, making the town a shopper’s paradise.
The real draw to the region is beach front, accessible to all visitors. I have a deep love of the mid-Atlantic waters. The water is bath water warm compared to the cold water shores off of Boston. It’s both possible and enjoyable to spend all day in the water, sunning and floating. Yet, unlike more southern waters, there is enough churn and wave action to provide some exercise.
