Tasting Date: 1/31/2025
Notes: Immediately starts with a bright, red fruit flavor – cherry flavored. Holds that fruit flavor through to finish. Complex with some depth but not overly bold. Playful. Not a lot of minerality nor any overt tannins in the finish.
Pairings: I paired this with a tortellini in vodka sauce with some chicken and soppressata . The bright fruit flavor cut through the tomato and fat flavors from the soppressata, playing nicely off both. Chris Loxton’s tasting notes are “works well with food” which, while generic seeming, is apt for such a playful, fruit forward blend.
